Which stars will not be at Euro 2024? - BBC Sport (2024)

He may be prolific for Manchester City, but Erling Haaland will be be absent from Europe's biggest football party this summer.

Haaland's Norway have failed to qualify for Euro 2024 which is no surprise, really, given they have not qualified for a major tournament since 2000.

BBC Sport looks at some of the players who will not be in Germany in June and July when Italy will be looking to defend their title.

Erling Haaland may be a Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup Treble winner but that does not guarantee you a place at the Euros.

Haaland scored six of Norway's 14 goals in qualifying but will be absent when the likes of Kylian Mbappe (France), Harry Kane (England) and Kevin de Bruyne (Belgium) are all expected to be in action for their countries at Euro 2024.

Norway's failure to make it through qualifying also means Haaland's international team-mate Martin Odegaard will be absent from the tournament, which takes place between 14 June and 14 July.

Arsenal captain Odegaard, 24, scored his country's second goal in a 2-1 qualifying win against Georgia on 12 September. However, Norway finished third in Group A - six points behind second-placed Scotland, who are off to Germany.
